The Journalist Award der deutschen Zeitungen – Theodor-Wolff-Preis geht in diesem Jahr an sechs Journalisten: Den mit 6.000 Euro dotierten Preis in der Kategorie „Kommentar/Glosse/Essay“ hat die Jury Carolin Emcke für ihren Beitrag „Stumme Gewalt“ („Zeit Magazin Leben“, Hamburg) zuerkannt, in dem sich die Autorin an die Ermordung ihres Mentors Alfred Herrhausen erinnert und über den Einbruch von Gewalt und Tod in ihr Leben reflektiert.

Die WAZ Mediengruppe und der Internationale Journalistenverband (IFJ) haben einen mit 10.000 Euro dotierten Medienpreis ins Leben gerufen. Die Erstverleihung ist für das kommende Jahr vorgesehen. Die Modalitäten für den "Courage-Preis" werden auf dem 2. Medienforum im November in Sofia bekannt gegeben.

Bundestag President Norbert Lammert recruited as part of the ceremony on Wednesday night for a greater attention to parliamentary work in the media. German history shows that not a functioning democracy can be taken for granted. "The Media Award of the German Parliament intended to highlight the efforts to bring citizens closer to the parliamentary system, very closely.
